Space to discover

1.5 million people visit Hutchinson/Reno County each year.  They go to places like Dillion Nature Center, Yoder Amish Community, Hutchinson Zoo, Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm, Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, Underground Salt Museum, Reno County Museum, and the Kansas Kids Museum.  Not to be missed are the Historic Fox Theatre and the Hutchinson Art Center.  Crave theatre?  Plenty to choose from here.  The Flag Theatre, the Old Mill Theatre, ArtisTree, and the current movie theatres.  Art is on the agenda too – Brigman Studio, Gallery 7 and the Hutchinson Public Library.

Space to play

Bringing the kids?  Or are you just a big kid yourself?  Head out and Cheney State Park or Sand Hill State Park.  There’s also the Salt City Splash Aquatic Center.  Golf?  Prairie Dunes or the municipal course – where you have 5 ways to enjoy a round.  The Fun Valley Sports Complex is available for a little b-ball, tennis, auto racing and football.  Catch a ball game at Hobart-Detter Field.

Space to meet

We’re a little partial to Memorial Hall and The Cosmosphere — where you’ll experience the Small Business Social Media Summit.  Hutchinson CVB has your needs covered – from a full service, state of the art convention center to many unique offsite facilities.  They are there to work with you and create a phenomenal experience for you and your guests.

Space to shop

Downtown restaurants offer everything from American, Italian, Mexican, barbecue, and gourmet cuisine; each with their own unique atmosphere.    Stroll through Avenue A Park, the historic George Pyle Park, and while in season, you’ll find fruits and vegetables, bakery items and other homemade items at the Hutchinson Farmer’s Market. Downtown Hutchinson is home to more than 125 businesses including a blossoming antique district. Rich with architecture dating back to the late 1800s, examples of buildings from each decade can be found in Downtown, including the art deco-styled courthouse and recently restored Historic Fox Theater.    Visitors will find the many antique shops offer art, china, collectibles, furniture, glassware and much more.
